Bluebell Room
This is the room that starts to get the children ready for big school! Allowing the children to grow in independence the team in this room encourage independent dressing, toileting and eating which is what will be expected at big school.
Bluebells room consists of two small groups (Bluebells 1&2). Children in both Bluebell rooms are age 3 upwards. They are progressing towards "Big School" and many activities are designed to help them prepare for this transition. This room slowly starts to be a little more focused as we gently encourage the children to help themselves (with support) a little more with toileting, eating and putting on coats.
The emphasis is still learning through play, not classroom teaching. Interesting and stimulating activities are planned around their interests and to prepare them for the future.

Activities are based around the EYFS curriculum and circle time with a brief register helps to settle and calm. It is not necessary for a child to be able to write their own name by the time they start big school. Instead we encourage mark making in a variety of forms and perform activities which help develop the fine motor skills which are necessary for holding a pencil.
The team here has excellent relationships with our feeder primary schools and works to support children and their families through this transition.
Children in Bluebells can bring a packed lunch or have a preschool lunch (booked in advance), if they attend over lunch time. Breakfast, snacks and cooked tea are provided.
